social & community service

Social service has been an integral part of MAMS since its inception. Even the CISCE has structured Socially Useful Productive Work (S.U.P.W) as an ancillary, but mandatory part of its curriculum. At MAMS, we believe in developing social potential not only through competitive events but also through regular community service. Not only do we learn to understand and appreciate differences but also learn to make a difference to those less fortunate than ourselves. Community service is a natural extension of the school routine and certain days are dedicated to working with the community we belong to.

Students work with the elderly, the underprivileged, the less-abled and with street children. Students also organise fund-raising activities for various relief organizations.

‘Shramdaan’ on the occasion of ‘Independence Day’ & ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ is a regular fixture on the school calendar, when the entire body of students and teachers replaces the support staff to carry out chores from cleaning and sweeping to cooking and washing for the entire day for the school. The IAYP programme, which is run by the school, is a further incentive for the students to whole-heartedly take to service projects.
